Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Engineer – Civil/Site Design to join our Civil/Site Land Development team in Phoenix, Arizona. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated civil engineer who thrives on problem-solving, collaboration, and seeing projects come to life.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll take ownership of project design, coordination, and delivery, while supporting and guiding junior team members. You will:
- Review municipal zoning codes, land development ordinances, and agency regulations to determine development constraints.
- Conduct site investigations and due diligence, including utility research, regulatory review, and site visits.
- Prepare concept drawings and site plans that align with client objectives and development guidelines.
- Take a lead role in stormwater management and conveyance system design, using Civil 3D and hydrology software.
- Complete stormwater pipe sizing calculations, drainage area maps, hydraulic grade line evaluations, and apply methodologies such as the Rational Method and Manning’s Equation.
- Carry out grading design and earthwork analysis, ensuring safety and efficiency while minimizing costs.
- Design utility systems, including public water, sewer mains, and service connections—resolving conflicts as needed.
- Prepare soil erosion and sediment control plans, stability checks, spillway designs, and construction sequencing.
- Develop construction cost estimates for bonding and client needs.
- Lead and mentor other engineers, while also managing your own technical deliverables.
Qualifications for Project Engineer Civil/Site Design Jobs in Phoenix
We’re looking for someone who brings a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- 4–7+ years of relevant experience in civil/site land development.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; PE license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of local municipal, county, and state land-use and zoning regulations.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, stormwater management, grading, and utility design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Valid driver’s license (preferred).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A self-starter mindset with the drive to manage multiple priorities.
