Job Description

  • Preparing quantity take-offs for various types of projects based on specifications/available drawings or information.
  • Prior experience preparing pre- and post-contract cost plan / construction estimates.
  • Prepare an assumption and exclusion list base estimate for the projects initial phases.
  • Examine drawings and prepare an RFI for estimation queries.
  • Preparation of the BoQ. in accordance with the applicable standards.
  • Preparation of bottom-up and top-down estimates based on project requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant rates, rate benchmarking, location factors, productivity, and so on.
  • Understanding of relevant rates, as well as rate benchmarking against other projects of a similar nature.
  • Assurance of contractor estimates in terms of quantity, rate, risk and opportunity, inflation, and indirect works, among other things.
  • Preparation of an assurance report indicating the observation
  • The ability to prepare the entire lifecycle cost and calculate NAV will be advantageous.
  • Teamwork and excellent communication skills are required.
  • Provide clients with recommendations for improvements, strategies, and/or cost estimates.
  • Provide procurement strategy advice to the client.
  • Identify potential financial or construction risks and keep a commercial risk register up to date.
  • Create tender and contract documents for contractors and consultants.
  • Estimate the cost of various materials required for the project.
  • Obtain bids from contractors and subcontractors.
  • Assists in the preparation of bidders technical and commercial evaluation reports, as well as the creation of price bid comparison statements.
  • Monitor design and/or construction work changes and adjust budget projections accordingly.
  • Identifying non-tender items ahead of time and informing the client
  • Quantifying and submitting changes in terms of time and cost impact, as well as substantiating with proofs.
  • Keep track of progress and prepare cost reports.
  • Prepare quantity sheet from onsite data & drawings
  • To get work done as per the protocol of the company
  • Review the quantities item listed
  • Checking and certification of bills and invoices from vendors and contractors
  • Checking onsite measurements and prepare and evaluate JMR with various contractors
  • Preparing reconciliation statements
  • Prepare and certify variation statement
